Before bringing or sending objects or documents you are kindly requested to contact us (by mail, postal services or telephone). Pictures and/or a description of the object or any other information you might have about the object to be donated, as well as a short explanation about its condition will help us determine whether or not the donation fits our collections.

On Tuesday August 18 Marcel Verhasselt, vice president of the Board, welcomed the 10,000th visitor after the end of the corona lockdown with a free admission and a souvenir. The Hasevoets family from Wellen was the happy recipient of the prize.
Fort Eben-Emael was one of the largest and sturdiest fortifications in Europe and was deemed invincible. The spectacular attack on the Fort on May 10, 1940 by German elite paratroopers signalled the tragic start of the Second World War for Western Europe.

The WHI Gunfire Brasschaat site houses a large collection of vehicles and equipment, either armoured or not. These vehicles and equipment items were mainly used by the Belgian armed forces in Germany. The collection provides an extensive overview of the various weapons within the Belgian armed forces: field artillery, anti-aircraft artillery, infantry, cavalry (tanks-recce units), military engineering and logistics.
